Reimagining life with dementia
5-day retreat for people in the early stages of dementia and their support partner
Sydney Retreats
Our Sydney-based 5-day Rementia Together retreats are held regularly throughout the year and designed for people in the early stages of dementia and their support partner. Accommodating five people and their support partners, the retreats are funded by the Australian Government, meaning accommodation, food and all retreat inclusions are provided at no cost to participants.
Regional Retreat in Berry
We held our very first regional retreat in the beautiful NSW south coast town of Berry in August. Offering the same engaging program as our Sydney retreats, participants stayed in luxury Linnaeus Collection accommodation and were able to enjoy sessions that made the most of the beautiful surrounds whilst connecting in a supportive and caring environment. Details for our next regional retreat will be released soon.
The Rementia Together 5-day retreat will give people living with dementia and their support partner hope beyond their diagnosis fostering a sense of optimism and possibilities for a brighter future.
Group Homes Australia welcomes you to a 5-day, live-in retreat designed specifically for people living with dementia. The program, which accommodates five people and their support partners, provides innovative dementia education, shares tools and strategies to help you live well, and the opportunity to connect with others in a supportive and caring environment at the retreat and into the future.

Retreat participant stories and testimonials
“I couldn’t recommend this experience more. It was the most amazing week spent learning about living with dementia as well as learning about how to be a carer for a person living with dementia. We were so fortunate to get into this program which was completely funded by the government, with no expenses paid by us. The accommodation and food were 5-star. The Homemakers treated us like family. The whole experience felt like a big encouraging hug, where we got to hang out and share our experiences with others who are going through the same thing. Everyone has a different story and situation but we all are dealing with loved ones who are cognitively declining. Learning about how to help them and help us as their support partners get through this was so priceless. I could not recommend this retreat higher. It was such a beautiful experience for both my mother and myself.”

“We could not recommend the GHA retreat highly enough. It has had a profound effect on our family. The retreat takes an honest and proactive approach on how to live well with the disease, and how we can all more effectively support Ross and ourselves. The biggest take away for us is that there is still a lot of life to be lived for us, and we can make changes to enable us to continue to live our dreams.”
