Dementia Care Hornsby Shire
Open Now: our new Thornleigh home
Our newest GHA home is now open, in Oakleigh Avenue, Thornleigh.
This spacious two-storey home combines modern comforts with a cozy, homely atmosphere. Our largest GHA home, Oakleigh has 10 bedrooms, most with their own private ensuite. The heart of the home is its open plan kitchen, dining, and living area, full of natural light. Here, a comfy lounge area with gas fireplace and large dining table create a welcoming space for residents and Homemakers to gather for meals and relaxation. The separate sitting room at the front provides a quiet retreat for smaller gatherings, engagements or family visits.
Outside, an inviting undercover terrace is the perfect all-season spot for enjoying the sun with a cup of tea. The rear garden offers direct access to adjacent parkland, great for taking leisurely strolls or simply sitting and soaking up nature’s beauty.
Oakleigh is the first of our GHA homes to be located in the Hornsby Shire. Thornleigh has a wonderful community atmosphere and is home to a large shopping precinct, Thornleigh Marketplace, as well as a number of cafes, coffee shops and restaurants, making it easy for residents to take part in small outings and engage with the local community.

“This is one of the best models of dementia care in an assisted environment that I’ve seen”
Ita Buttrose AO OBE
National Ambassador of Dementia Australia
The group home environment
Our group homes have 6-10 residents with 24/7 dedicated care.
Our innovative model of care is an alternative to traditional aged care facilities. Smaller care environments have been proven to increase quality of life, reduce rates of depression and reduce hospitalisation for people living with dementia, making ours some of the best dementia care facilities in Sydney.
Meaningful Engagement
Our Homemakers and Support Team work with each resident and their family to ensure their unique needs are met.
Complex Care Needs
We have various levels of care to accommodate the entire ageing and dementia journey.
Tailored Routines
Unlike residential aged care facilities, we don’t have rigid schedules. Residents wake up in their own time, set their own meal times and have visitors when they want.
Higher Care Ratio
We offer a high care ratio of an average 1:4 team members per resident which is better than most traditional aged care facilities.
Superior Health Outcomes
Research shows that health outcomes in smaller environments are superior to traditional nursing homes.
“Feels Like Home”
Our homes are warm and open with the familiar atmosphere of a traditional home.
